Martha GelardenMartha Gelarden, BFA, MA, MFA, PMA-CPT

Teaching, art and performance are all my lifework. Each is fueled by an insatiable curiosity and love of learning. For 25 years, I lived an academic life teaching Sculpture/Installation/Performance Art at Moore College of Art and Design, Philadelphia, Columbia College Chicago and Eastern Michigan University. My artwork and research have been exhibited internationally and throughout the US. For the past decade, I have also continued to serve as a Weight Watchers Meeting Leader helping members with their health and fitness journey. Physical fitness was key to my personal weight loss and Pilates became part of my personal practice in 2007. After retiring from academia I have focused on Pilates and completing the Balanced Body Pilates Comprehensive Certification studying with Sylvia ByrdLeitner and Jessica Moss. As a Pilates instructor, my goal is to share my “It is never too late to start” attitude and love of healthy creative solutions through movement. The PC2 Community has been very supportive and I am grateful for this opportunity to give back and to be a part of this very special healing environment.
