Sylvia Byrd-Leitner

Sylvia Byrd-Leitner, MFA, CPT, RYT - Co-Founder and Creative Director, Master Pilates Teacher, Balanced Body Pilates Teacher Training Director

Sylvia Byrd-Leitner is an impassioned instructor. Her goal is to share the wealth of knowledge she has accumulated throughout her life in the field of movement. As an undergraduate she worked as a physical therapist's aide at Moss Rehab in Philadelphia. She went on to earn her MFA in Dance/Movement from Temple University. She has performed and choreographed nationally and spent 5 years teaching dance at Rowan University before opening her own Pilates Studios. She has been teaching Pilates for 14 years. She is a registered Yoga teacher and continues to study movement and anatomy with some of the foremost and inspiring instructors internationally. What motivates her most is the joy of movement. Her keen eye has helped her bring awareness to her clients, helping them to focus on the details of their bodies in motion. As Joseph Pilates said, "A few well-designed movements, properly performed in a balanced sequence, are worth hours of doing sloppy calisthenics or forced contortion."

 

Diane Grossman

Diane Grossman, RYT, CHHC, AADP - Co-Founder & Business Manager, Health Coach

Diane's expertise is in business development, operations and management. Her career accomplishments range from the establishment of individual businesses and partnerships to a leadership role in a Fortune 100 global corporation. After being introduced to Pilates and yoga to strengthen her shoulder and rotator cuff weakness and deal with stress, Diane fell in love with the benefits she felt immediately. She has been practicing now for over 10 years. Diane is trained to teach Pilates Group Reformer I and has completed her yoga teacher training through Flossie Park. She is a Certified Holistic Health Coach and received her training at Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN) in New York City. She is certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and has obtained Continuing Education Units from Purchase College, State Univerity of New York.  Diane offers health coaching to individuals and groups. She enjoys sharing her passion for living a healthier lifestyle with her clients, family and friends.

Michele Bozzini

Michele Bozzini, RYT and Master Pilates Instructor, Administrative Staff

Michele brings her diverse background in dance, choreography, yoga and
fitness to her Pilates practice. These experiences shaped her desire to
study Pilates and Yoga. Michele believes in the importance of a body, mind
and spirit connection and that Pilates is the foundation of core strength
which enhances all other forms of exercise. She has a reputation for being
meticulous and precise about form along with a passion and commitment to
health and fitness to herself and for others.

Dani Durante, Associate Pilates Instructor

Classically trained in ballet, jazz, tap and modern dance including hip hop, Dani has been dancing since the age of four. After years of performing, and receiving a BA from Seton Hall University she served as a ballet mistress for a Northern NJ dance studio. As she evolved from dance to Pilates, her newly found passion seemed like a natural transition. Currently a certified Zumba instructor, Dani is educated and trained in Pilates Mat I and Mat II and Reformer I and II training through Balanced Body at Pilates Core Center.

Lisa Forman

Lisa Forman, RYT and Personal Trainer

Lisa is an Advanced Certified Personal Trainer, is certified in sports nutrition and holistic healing. She has been practicing yoga for over 12 years and has found that YogaFit is the perfect type of yoga for her to incorporate into her fitness lifestyle.

Carole Gorman-Swift

Carole Gorman-Swift - RYT and Master Pilates Instructor

Carole has been involved with dance, sports and exercise since a young age. She began her dance training in her hometown of Detroit, Michigan and as a college student moved to the Philadelphia area where she continued her dance and exercise training @ West Chester and Temple Universities.

Carole graduated with a B.S. in Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance from WCU and M.Ed. in Dance with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology from TU. Teaching dance in the performing arts and physical education departments of Cherry Hill East brought her to New Jersey and eventually Haddonfield where she owned her own dance studio for twenty plus years.

Carole has been @ PC2 since 2007. As a Master Pilates instructor she is comprehensively certified through Balance Body and trained in Core Align. There is a constant stream of encouragement throughout Carole’s classes and she brings a positive spirit to every session to keep sessions new, challenging and always catering to her clients’ needs.

Olga Kovalyova

Olga Kovalyova - Associate Pilates Instructor, Yoga and Barre Instructor

Olga has been studying Pilates and Yoga since 2001. She is passionate about inspiring clients to discover and develop strength, balance, and flexibility inside and out. Olga combines her knowledge of Pilates, Yoga , Neuromuscular Therapy and Anatomy to help clients achieve their fitness and health goals.

Dedicated to teaching others movement through Pilates, Yoga, and other disciplines, she practices the philosophy of the Eternal Student; always learning more and growing.

Olga is certified in Mat, Reformer, Barre and Apparatus I through Balanced Body with Sylvia Byrd-Leitner and Pre and Postnatal Pilates with Carolyne Anthony and continues her education with the goal of being comprehensively certified in Pilates completing Apparatus II, III and Core Align in the next 6 months. She is also RYT-200 in Yoga, and is currently working on the 500 hour level with Sue Elkind of DigYoga in Lambertville, NJ.

Lauryn LeCates

Lauryn LeCates - Administrative Staff

After having three girls in less than four years, Lauryn's passion for fitness was reinvigorated by a simple goal: compete in the 2009 Broad Street Run.  The 10-mile run was her first race.  Crossing the finish line ignited a passion for distance running that she enjoys to this day.  Happily married with three young girls, Lauryn is a working Mom who loves exploring new fitness options and applying her people and organizational skills at Pilates Core Center and Dragonfly Yoga.

Jessica Moss

Jessica Moss - Master Pilates Instructor and Professional Dancer

Jessica is a professional modern dancer, teacher and choreographer who began her Pilates training as a way to improve strength and flexibility for dance. Jessica incorporates her experience with Laban Movement Analysis, Bartenieff Fundamentals and functional anatomy into her Pilates practice to develop movement efficiency and muscle release. She completed her Pilates training in 2004 from Pilates Master, Karen Carlson, with whom she continues to study.  Jessica is PMA certified.

Diane Myles - Senior Pilates Instructor

Diane has 22 years of experience in the fitness industry and has taught in the area while raising her four beautiful children.  She is trained in Pilates mat and reformer through Balanced Body  and is actively persuing her comprehensive teacher training.  She is also certified in Kickboxing, Powerstrike Forza and has Martial Arts training receiving 1st kyu red/black belt in Kenop Karate.  Diane enjoys sharing her love of fitness with her students.

Kellie Nash 

Kellie Nash - Associate Pilates Instructor, CoreAlign and TRX Instructor 

Kellie has a Bachelors degree in Biological Science and a Masters degree in School Administration and Leadership.  She is a full time high school science teacher, teaching AP Biology, Genetics, and Earth Science.  In 2009, Kellie began her journey into Pilates, taking Pilates reformer classes.  She quickly discovered the many benefits of this form of exercise that connects mind and body and she decided to become a trained instructor in order to share her passion with others.  Kellie is trained through Polestar Pilates in Reformer 1,2 and 3 and CoreAlign 1 through Balanced Body .  She is also a trained and certified TRX instructor in group fitness training.  Kellie has been teaching Pilates reformer, jump board, CoreAlign and TRX since 2011.

Michele Rath 

Michele Rath - Associate Pilates Instructor and TRX Instructor

Born and raised in central Massachusetts, I left my beloved BoSox and Patriots for college and later law school at the University of Maryland. While practicing law at a firm in Washington, D.C., I met my husband and moved to South Jersey. I continue to support clients in the government contracting field as the owner and president of Michele Rath Consulting.

We have two wonderful children. With both pregnancies, I gained quite a bit of weight but it was my second pregnancy that really made me tip the scales by gaining a whopping 60 lbs! I struggled to shed the baby weight despite regular exercise and a healthy diet. That is when I decided to try Pilates and sign up for my first triathlon! I became hooked on both instantly and have been practicing Pilates and competing in sprint triathlons ever since. I subsequently discovered my love for teaching. I am a certified group fitness, Zumba and Pilates Reformer instructor. I continue to study and deepen my awareness of fitness and movement.

Melissa Roberts 

Melissa Roberts - Associate Pilates Instructor and TRX Instructor

Melissa discovered Pilates on a personal journey to manage the pain of arthritis in her lower spine.  During her journey she stumbled upon Pilates reformer and fell in love.  She found sharing her passion of Pilates Reformer created friendships and amazing bonds that fueled her personal mission statement to brighten the lives of others.  Melissa's classes have been described as both a "Grown Ups Play Date" and "A Party" - often you'll hear her say "Come play with me." and she means it!  She brings her passion for Pilates and TRX alive with a class filled with fun positive energy and exercises that are both physically and mentally challenging.  Whether it's hanging out on the straps (TRX) or movement on the machine (Reformer), she is always striving to play hard and laugh often.  Melissa is certified in Pilates Mat, Pilates Reformer and TRX.

Alyse Rutkowski - Zumba Instructor

Alyse grew up taking dance classes in ballet, jazz and modern, as well as traveling to Puerto Rico to visit her grandparents and absorb the language and culture.  Alyse is a full time HS Spanish and ESL teacher who majored in  Spanish and Hispanic Studies at Rutgers University in New Brunswick.  her passion for the Hispanic culture and language has been lifelong.  She started taking Zumba classes as a fun way to stay in shape after college, and became certified to teach about five years ago.  She brings her enthusiasm for the language and the culture to each and every class.

Gavin Segal

Gavin Segal - Personal Trainer, iHeal Technique

Gavin received his Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science and holds personal training certifications in NSCA (CSCS) , ACE, M.A.T. Jumpstart, and  Reactivation Level 2.  Gavin’s  Philosophy on Training is teaching proper biomechanics.  The traditional way of training is to emphasize muscles, Gavin's focus is on training movement.  This creates a more functional INTENTION, which makes his clients stronger inside and outside the gym.

He designed the Cardio Circuit class to increase functional strength by focusing on basic exercises, with the benefit of burning a lot of calories.  The exercises are based on individual skill level.  Therefore, the  class can benefit all levels of fitness.

Michelle Segal - Administrative Staff

After over 25 years working in the corporate world, Michelle has recently left all that behind to concentrate on her family and her passion for helping women feel beautiful inside and out. Through her love of fashion, Pilates and Zumba, Michelle is a true believer that "if you feel good, you look good". She is a "people person" who is never at a loss for words. She is excited to bring her administrative background along with her gift of gab to Pilates Core Center and Dragonfly Yoga.

Svetlana Shapiro

Svetlana Shapiro - Pilates Instructor, TRX, CoreAlign, Fitness, Ballet

Svetlana is former professional ballet dancer.  Upon graduating from a prestigious Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia, Svetlana joined a world-renowned Kirov (Mariinsky) Ballet in 1993.   In 1999, Svetlana moved to the United States where she continued her dancing carrier with Ballet Internationale in Indianapolis, IN.  She began teaching in 2003, when she moved to the Philadelphia area with her husband, first as a ballet teacher and later as a fitness and Pilates instructor.   Svetlana received comprehensive Pilates training from Balanced Body Education, including Reformer, Tower, Chair, Core Align and Barre. Svetlana is also a certified TRX trainer.  Svetlana specializes in ballet and dance conditioning, using her deep knowledge of movement to help students improve turn out, flexibility, core control, and overall strength.

 

Frank "Frankie" Tayar - Meditation

Frankie has over 20 years of experience and wide knowledge of Martial Arts and Zen, practice and philosophy.  Six years of service in the Israeli Defense Forces.  Over 10 years as owner and CEO of Tayrex Corporation, a software company located in Cherry Hill.  Eight years assisting black belt holders from various martial arts achieve quick and quality progress in their practice and higher ranks in their discipline.
