Pilates - Reformer and Mat Classes
Pilates Reformer Basics Great for beginner Pilates students or those returning to exercise. Move through a series of exercises designed by Joseph Pilates to lengthen and strengthen your body. Challenge your body with flow that allows for a group of vigorous moves to be followed by one to catch your breath. All of the exercises incorporate the total body leaving you feeling balanced and walking away with improved posture. Offers a good base of exercises and is a great place to begin your reformer practice. Group Reformer - Level 1-2 A beginner to intermediate class offering new challenges to students who have experienced the fundamental exercises and have a sound understanding of the principles of Pilates. Reformer Challenge This is a flowing Pilates reformer class that will challenge strength, stabilization and flexibility. NO BEGINNERS, please! Pilates Mat Class with Props This class will strengthen your core as well as stretch and lengthen your muscles. We will incorporate the use of props from time to time such as springboard, balls, foam rollers, bands and rings...keeping classes varied, challenging and fun. Classes are open to all levels. Expect to leave class feeling stronger, strengthened and renewed. Pilates Mat and Reformer Combo 1/2 mat and 1/2 reformer - this combination Pilates mat and reformer class hones your Pilates mat skills to enhance your reformer workout. Springboard/Wall Tower Springboard/Wall Tower class uses resistance training to tone and strengthen the body. It is a complete body workout with the primary focus being on the abdominals as the stabilizers. This is a wonderfully fun and challenging way to bridge mat work with spring resistance.
Yoga Classes
Young Yogis 4+ Yoga meets play in our Young Yogis class. In a fun environment, children will explore teir creative expression while strengthening their bodies as they learn how to focus through breathing and relaxation techniques while building social skills in this energy releasing class. Ages 4+ Yoga for Fitness Enthusiasts Yoga for Fitness Enthusiasts combines the ancient yoga practice with modern fitness movements and safety guidelines. Yoga for Fitness includes the elements of a tough cardiovascular workout as well as strength building postures that lengthen and strengthen your muscles without adding unnecessary bulk. Yoga for Fitness balances mind and body, gets you in great shape, focuses your efforts and helps prevent sports injuries. Restorative Yoga Come explore the ancient practice of yoga. Using constant support, learn the postures, breathing and relaxation techniques that allow you to exercise with ease. This class is appropriate for returning exercisers or those experiencing injury or chronic discomfort. Yoga Dance Yoga Dance is an enthusiastic fusion of Vinyasa yoga and funky dance movement with music from many genres and cultures. This fun and freeing dance of yoga is appropriate for every body, for all ages. Vitality Vinyasa Vitality Vinyasa is a class that asks each student to open up and experience the flow on a personal level. Throughout the class you will focus on personal empowerment through alignment and strength, grace and meditation. While using props, modifications, and listening to your own body, this class is appropriate for students with a baisc knowledge of the poses as well as advanced practitioners. Vinyasa A dynamic flowing intermediate to advanced classis vinyasa yoga class that will build strength and stamina yet leave you with a sense of peace and calm. Basic Yoga Join us for the Basics. Together we will learn the essential poses, breathwork, meditation, and just a touch of philosophy. come ready to learn as we incorporte props and modifications to create a class you will love. Yoga - All Levels This class will include meditation, pranayama (breath work) and asana. Variations and modifications will be available for each asana so that students of all leels of experience will be able to enjoy the class and grow their practice. Increase your strength, stamina and flexibility while cultivating an awareness of your body, mind and spirit.
Misc.
Zumba PlusA fun way to burn calories, exercise body and mind. Open to those with two left feet as well as more advanced movers. You will set your level. Come and see how great it feels to move your whole body with a sense of abandon to contempory music selections. Before and after the cardio portion of the class we will stretch and do some strength training.

Belly Dancing with Nyla

Nyla’s unique style reflects great emotion, characteristic of the Dances of Central Asia, and sensuality of the traditional Danse Orientale. Nyla's class material includes breakdown of the basic shapes, steps, and traveling techniques; creating foundation for layering, with a focus on developing proper posture, flexibility, and muscular control. Movement, shapes and combination drills help improve technique while providing a perfect cardio workout. Nyla was born and raised in Tashkent, Uzbekistan - the heart of Central Asia, on the crossroads of the ancient "Silk Road."
Inspired by Erkinoy, a former lead dancer of the famous Uzbek dance troupe "Bahor," and later her private instructor, she began studying Middle Eastern Dance, along with Uzbek, Persian and Gypsy Dance at the age of 16. Her extensive training consists of various forms of folk dance, ballet, figure skating and synchronized swimming, and of course Middle Eastern Dance (Bellydance).
